👋 Hola! I’m Mariana León, a proud Mexican woman born in a small village in Hidalgo and part of the Otomí indigenous community.
As an adventure elopement photographer, I specialize in capturing intimate, authentic love stories across Mexico. I split my time between Baja California Sur (close to Los Cabos and La Paz) and central Mexico, just 1.5 hours from Mexico City’s international airports. This central location allows me to travel seamlessly to any destination to photograph your dream elopement.
My passion for photography began in 8th grade when my mom bought me my first camera—a constant companion ever since. After high school in Texas, I pursued Sustainable Tourism and Photography studies in Mexico.
I initially focused on landscapes and documentary work. However, second-shooting a wedding was a turning point; I instantly fell in love with the raw emotions, profound trust, and genuine connections. Since then, I’ve dedicated myself to refining my skills in wedding photography, a journey that started in 2015 and became my full-time profession in 2020.
Today, my heart belongs to intimate weddings and adventure elopements throughout Mexico. I thrive on helping couples discover stunning, off-the-beaten-path locations that perfectly echo their unique spirits—from cactus-filled deserts and serene forests to majestic mountaintops and cascading waterfalls. My goal is to craft a visual story that truly reflects your adventure.

My experiences traveling Mexico have deeply influenced my approach to capturing authentic stories:
The most challenging time in my life was losing my mom. For almost a year, my camera felt heavy, until a couple reached out with an exciting request: an elopement in Zihuatanejo.
That trip was transformative. I ended up extending my stay in Ixtapa-Zihuatanejo, where new connections brought joy and laughter back into my life. This experience ignited my profound love for intimate celebrations, shifting my focus from larger weddings to the deeply personal stories of elopements.

Beyond the lens, here are a few more insights into who I am:
✶ I’ve fostered rescue dogs through Baja Dogs La Paz, contributing to animal welfare in Mexico.
✶ I volunteered in National Parks across Mexico for two years and have explored 16 Mexican islands.
✶ I’m 33 and the youngest of four siblings.
✶ My favorite activities include hiking, swimming, camping, and embarking on road trips.
✶ I fell in love with the majestic Rocky Mountains during my travels in Canada.
✶ Childhood memories include caring for goats with my cousins, often getting delightfully distracted by play or swims.
✶ My high school best friend was Turkish, and I cherished learning about her vibrant culture.
✶ At five, my first visit to Mexico City involved an unforgettable subway ride—complete with a puppy-like car sickness incident! 😂
✶ My favorite memory is a vibrant day in Xochimilco with my entire family, filled with music, laughter, and delicious food.
✶ I adore ceviche, with my favorites hailing from Holbox and La Paz.
